We Are Hiring:

Ascension Eastwood Behavioral Health is looking for a Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor for our St. Clair Shores location. In this role you would be responsible for completing biopsychosocial assessments, making diagnosis, creating treatment plans, and providing therapy. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills and be able to independently manage their work. Fully licensed Clinicians are preferred but we will train a Limited License Clinician who has a passion for the work.

Schedule: Full Time, flexible schedule

At our Ascension Eastwood Behavioral Health St. Clair Shores location, our care team diagnoses and treats behavioral health conditions, including mental illness and substance abuse disorders. We care about how these conditions can affect your physical and emotional health. Our care team also offers programs that address drug and alcohol addiction, family conflicts, social isolation, and more.

What You Will Do:

Provide behavioral health counseling services to a variety of populations including adults, children, teens, and families.

• Conduct patient assessments and establish therapy treatment goals.
• Administer individual and group therapy. Maintain thorough and confidential records of observations.
• Evaluate progress and effectiveness of therapy interventions.
• Provide patient with information regarding resources and therapeutic activities in the community.
• Work directly with the patient, family, physician and community providers to ensure active and collaborate care from the initiation of treatment to the time of discharge.

What You Will Need:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• One or more of the following required:
  • Licensed Master Social Worker credentialed from the Michigan Board of Social Work obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Licensed Counselor credentialed from the Michigan Board of Counseling obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Licensed Psychologist credentialed from the Michigan Board of Psychology obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
  • Therapist specializing in Marriage & Family obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Any issuing authority accepted. Verified by local Credentialing Office.
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred. Verified by local Credentialing Office.

Education:

• High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required.

Additional Preferences:

MCBAP certification is a plus.
