Counselor works independently to provide intervention, education,
individual, group and family therapy to substance abuse clients and
or family members. Provides assessment and referral for clients to
appropriate treatment modalities. Complete all required
documentation in a timely manner. Project the ethical values,
mission and vision of Bio-Med by providing quality clinical therapy
to the patient population. Working with patients, utilize
motivational interviewing and person-centered planning to develop
comprehensive treatment goals and objectives; Provide a total
systems approach to treatment by encouraging participation from the
patient, their families and other stakeholders. Provide clinical
services to patients by developing biopsychosocial assessment,
treatment plans, daily progress notes and 60-day treatment plan
reviews. Encourage and enable patients to achieve their treatment
goals with the resources we have available in-house and/or outside
our organization. Provide crisis intervention and monitor ongoing
patient adherence to their treatment plans and program
expectations. Develop appropriate discharge, aftercare and
transition plans with support outside the organization for
continuity of care. Facilitate groups, didactic and initial
assessments. Conduct individual counseling sessions with patients
on a basis determined by their treatment plan. Complete
authorizations and re-authorizations of funded patients with
continuous open communications with funding sources. Requirements:
Masters Degree LMSW, LLMSW, LPC or LLPC. Certified Advanced
Addiction Counselor certification (CADC, CAADC, CAADC-R) or an
active 3-year Development Plan or the ability to immediately apply
for a development plan to obtain the appropriate credentials.
Minimum one-year experience preferred. Hours of Operation: Monday -
Friday 5:00 AM - 1:00 PM; Saturday 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM (optional)
Participate in ongoing internal and external training to maintain
proficiency in current trends relative to providing quality therapy
to the patient population Participate in the initial intake process
by providing screenings, patients rights orientation, HIV/Hepatitis
C education and provide patient fee arrangements. Key competencies
include: analytical, drives change, curiosity, problem solving,
diligence, planning, excellent communication skills, collaborative
style (team player a must) Confidence with "can do" attitude
Effective interpersonal and written communication skills required.
High level attention to detail Customer focused Ability to work
independently and meet deadlines Physical Requirements: Prolonged
periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be
able to lift 15 pounds at times.
