Job Description Description A Brief Overview The Multi modality
Technologist is responsible for the independent operation of
imaging equipment, and for performing diagnostic examinations using
multiple modalities. The Multi modality Technologist is also
responsible for the daily operations of the department he/she is
scheduled to work, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the
report of equipment failures, and quality assessment (QA). The
technologist maintains a high standard of medical ethics at all
times and is self-motivated to increase the level of understanding
and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they
evolve. What You Will Do /n /n - Must be actively and consistently
working in more than one modality. /n - Consistently follows
hospital and department guidelines and standards for patient
identification and safety, including ALARA, Image Gently, and Image
Wisely. /n - Demonstrates competency in patient and technical
imaging skills by producing a variety of radiological exams and
procedures while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.
/n - Provides age-specific care to patients from neonates through
geriatrics. /n - able to perform all applicable equipment quality
control. /n - Accurately records all requested database/log
records. /n - Displays a commitment to hospital mission and values.
/n - Maintains licensure and continuing education requirements. /n
- Effectively follows directions to maintain compliance with state
and federal agencies, and readiness for inspection by regulatory
bodies (DNV, Joint Commission). /n - Proficient at instructing
students and new staff after 1 year of experience. /n - Must
demonstrate the ability to work independently. /n - Use
administrative skills to contribute to the successful operation of
the department by entering and completing correct billing codes in
the RIS. /n /n Additional Responsibilities /n /n - Provides
training, mentorship, and preceptorship to current and new
technologists and students within modalities /n - Collaborates
effectively with co-workers and staff within the department and
throughout the institution to ensure that assignments and/or
projects are completed in a professional and effective manner. /n -
Participates in regulatory activities as needed. /n - Contributes
to the safe, efficient, and successful operations of the department
through effective communication. /n - Effectively communicates with
ordering providers and/or radiologists to properly protocol patient
studies. /n - Ensures all equipment is functioning and demonstrates
ability to initiate service repair process /n - Maintains a
responsibility for self-development with support for the learning
environment of the hospital and the department of Radiology. /n -
Assists in preparing and maintaining all applicable equipment
Quality Control, database records, and/or logs. /n - Assist Team
Lead, as needed. /n - Performs other duties as assigned. /n -
Complies with all policies and standards. /n - For specific duties
and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the
department during orientation. /n - Must abide by all requirements
to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI)
for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH
policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of
PHI in the workplace. /n /n /n Qualifications Education
Qualifications /n /n - High School Equivalent / GED (Required) and
/n - Associate's Degree or completion of an accredited 2-year
program in a school of Radiologic Technology. (Required) and /n -
Must meet education requirement for all applicable modalities.
(Required) /n /n Experience Qualifications /n /n - 3 years
Experience as multi modality Tech( preferred) /n /n Skills and
Abilities /n /n - Must demonstrate effective organizational,
written and oral communication skills and knowledge of all various
equipment and machines used in each “special” area as appropriate.
(Required proficiency) /n - Excellent knowledge of modality
specific equipment, computers, PACS, EMR and RIS. /n - Ability to
troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise. /n - Excellent
knowledge of imaging and exam protocols. /n - Must demonstrate
excellent customer service skills. /n /n Licenses and
Certifications /n /n - Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) (Required
upon hire) /n - Certified by the ARRT, NMTCB, or RDMS in at least
one modality. (Required) and /n - Eligible for certification
testing in second modality. (Required) and /n - Licensed by the
