Job Description Description A Brief Overview Supports injured
athletes by facilitating office visits within physician office
practices. What You Will Do - Responsible for following patient
care from check in to check out. - Liaison between patient,
physician or physician office staff. - Responsible for taking
patient history, triage, and documentation. - Design and educate
patients on home exercise protocols per the physician's request. -
Responsible for patient setup and education of in-office
procedures. - Prepares for and assists physician with in-office
procedures. - Responsible for brace and crutch fitting and DME
education. - Triage patient messages, phone calls and questions
appropriately, whether it is resolving the issue within the scope
of practice or utilizing physician, nurse and other ancillary staff
as needed. - Counsel patient regarding diagnosis, treatment
options, and outcomes. - Supports the Rehabilitation clinic
operations to optimize patient throughput. - Supports
Rehabilitation Services patients as directed by the Physical
Therapist or Occupational Therapist. - Performs role of Athletic
Trainer - Outreach Staff if participating in offsite event
coverage. Additional Responsibilities - Performs other duties as
assigned. - Complies with all policies and standards. - For
specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation
provided by the department during orientation. - Must abide by all
requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health
Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of
Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address
appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Qualifications Education -
Bachelor's Degree in Sports Medicine or other related program
(Required) Work Experience - 1 years experience as an ATC
(Preferred) and - specific experience with general principles of
injury prevention and first aid (Required) Knowledge, Skills, &
Abilities - Physically and cognitively able to provide care and to
be able to assist in moving people and/or equipment. (Required
proficiency) Licenses and Certifications - National Athletic
Trainers Association certification (Required) - Licensure in the
State of Ohio (Required) and Physical Demands - Standing Frequently
