Job Description Description /n This is a part-time (24 hours per
week) role. Shift is variable days and evenings, with weekend
support. Includes on-call and holiday rotation. /n Radiology
candidates who accept a part-time or full-time position with

Ladder Progression /n /n A career as a magnetic resonance imaging
(MRI) technologist is exciting for those who are passionate about
health care, patient comfort and saving lives. As a technologist,
you are asked to operate MRI scanners and to ensure that the
procedure produces quality images and information for the health
care professional to make an accurate diagnosis. You have the
chance to work and interact directly with patients as you ensure
that they are comfortable and calm. Utilize your medical knowledge
by interviewing patients, explaining the procedure and placing the
patient in the appropriate spot on the table. Technologists are
also organized, detail-oriented people who are familiar with the
anatomical area that is being scanned and the patient’s history.
Develop relationships with patients as you help diagnose their
condition as an MRI technologist. /n A Brief Overview /n Performs
MRI scans at the direction of physician protocol. Provides
compassionate age-specific care to patients from neonates through
geriatrics. /n What You Will Do /n /n - Performs MRI scans as
directed by radiologist /n - Patient care during visit to MRI /n -
Answers phones and arranges schedule for in-patient request /n -
Assures a safe and clean environment /n - Maintains knowledge of
technical skills /n - Initiates and maintains positive
relationships with patients/customers and coworkers /n - Takes
responsibility for self-development and supports a learning
environment /n - Displays commitment to the mission of the hospital
and its values /n - Demonstrates successful technical/patient
skills by efficiently implementing special procedure technology in
the MR area /n - Uses administrative skills to contribute to the
successful operation of the department /n - Collaborates
effectively and in a timely manner with co-workers and clinical
staff /n - Provides age-specific care to patients from neonates
through geriatrics /n /n Additional Responsibilities /n /n -
Performs other duties as assigned. /n - Complies with all policies
and standards. /n - For specific duties and responsibilities, refer

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain
Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual
training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are
in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. /n /n
Qualifications This is a part-time (24 hours per week) role. Shift

on-call and holiday rotation. /n Education /n /n - Associate’s
Degree Completion of an accredited 2 year program in a school of
Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology (Required) or /n - Other
Accredited Program Completion of an accredited 2 year program in a
school of Radiologic or Nuclear Medicine Technology (Required) /n
/n Work Experience /n /n - MR scanning experience. (Preferred) /n
/n Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities /n /n - Knowledge of sterile and
surgical procedures. (Required proficiency) /n - Knowledge of MRI
equipment and safety in MRI environment. (Required proficiency) /n
- Knowledge of radiology information system. (Required proficiency)
/n - Basic knowledge of oxygen tanks, suction machine and emergency
equipment. (Required proficiency) /n /n Licenses and Certifications
/n /n - Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT:R) (Preferred) or /n
- Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) (Required) or /n -
Registered Technologist Radiation Therapy (ARRT-T) (Required) or /n
- ARDMS (Required) /n - Registered Technologist MRI (ARRT-MR)
