and MORE! Calibration Technician II is a mid-level position, for
which at least three (3) years of commercial calibration experience
is preferred. Calibration Technicians at this level typically can
calibrate higher-level equipment and calibrate equipment across a
minimum of four (4) disciplines, with expert knowledge in one (1)
discipline (e.g., Electrical, Dimensional, or Pressure).
Proficiency and expertise are determined in accordance with
Transcat’s technician skills progression matrix. A Calibration
Technician II will be capable of completing work independently
within the lab or onsite at a customer location, with limited or no
guidance. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform calibration work with little to no supervision Conduct
independent research when necessary Coordinate and manage daily
workloads without direction from manager Identify and utilize
appropriate measurement techniques Maintain calibration standards
Understand and apply uncertainties to measurements made Be able to
read and interpret labs’ scopes of accreditation Work effectively
with lab support staff Working knowledge and competency in at least
four (4) disciplines and expert in one (1) discipline preferred
Perform calibrations within a laboratory or customer on-site
setting Work at customer on-sites with little to no direction
Fulfill duties safely under working conditions, in keeping with
Company requirements and standards Other duties as may be assigned
Travel requirements: up to 50% of work schedule Primary Objectives
Learn and develop fundamental skills necessary to calibration
techniques and processes, which includes high level production with
minimal errors Develop team lead skills and responsibilities
Develop skills necessary to train and advise lower-level
technicians Develop skills necessary to advance to Tech III
position, which includes a working knowledge and competency in at
least six (6) disciplines and expert in two (2) disciplines Strive
to obtain the ASQ/CCT or CMT certification Deliver on Transcat’s
Quality Policy (QAC-F01-001) Qualifications Required Knowledge,
Skills , Abilities , and Qualifications Successful completion of
assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online
content, LMS, and classroom led instruction Strong interpersonal
and customer service skills Excellent attention to detail
Self-motivated learner with the ability to learn new skills related
to calibration and calibration processes Ability to take direction
and learn from feedback Ability to communicate well with
supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently
and as part of a team 3 years driving experience with a valid
driver’s license and acceptable driver history Education and
Experience Associates degree from college or technical school, or 3
years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination
of education and experience Preferred: Three (3) years of
commercial calibration experience Previous experience or training
in electronics or machining Basic mathematical skills including
algebra, geometry, and statistics Familiarity with basic hand tools
Proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including Word,
Excel, and Outlook Basic organizational and time management skills
Familiarity with basic hand tools Proficiency with Microsoft Office
computer software including Word, Excel, and Outlook Advanced
organizational and time management skills Experience in PMEL, PME,
TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics,
GCAMS, or Avionics Experience working within ISO 17025 preferred.

Environment The work environment described here is representative

functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the
employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The
employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The
employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions;
high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or
caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and vibration. The
